THE LIGHTHOUSE FESTIVAL WILL BE BACK IN 2013
Planning for the 2013 Lighthouse Festival is currently under way and it is shaping up to be another fantastic festival. We will keep updating this site as new things are confirmed, so keep checking back.
About the Lighthouse Festival
The fourth annual Lighthouse Festival will be held on Saturday 26th October 2013. The event is unique in terms of its variety and capacity to showcase the region as whole.
The festival operates on four key principles:
- To provide local and emerging artists (musical and visual) with an opportunity for exposure to a large audience.
- To showcase the lifestyle and activities of the region.
- To provide excellent value for visitors and local attendees. Admission to the event is by gold coin or donation with the majority of income coming from site fees and sponsorships.
- To provide outstanding value and promotion for all stakeholders - the community, performers, sponsors, exhibitors, stall holders, and other supporters.
The purpose of the event is not to raise money for a specific cause but rather to provide opportunities for others in the community and the region to benefit from the influx and activity surrounding the festival.

Location
Burnett Heads is a beach side town located at the mouth of the Burnett River. It is a satellite community of Bundaberg, roughly half-way between Brisbane and Rockhampton on the fringe of Central Qld and South-East Qld. The festival itself is currently held on Jack Norgate Oval which is an expansive space that overlooks the Pacific Ocean - a great backdrop for such an event.
